The Lovely British Weather

We're told there's going to be a mini heatwave this weekend, but I see no signs of this being true!

Doll Houses

Today, I've been clearing out the cupboard under the stairs. Not a nice job. I'm not sure it's been done in many years and it's full of cobwebs and things that move in the shadows! lol

Anyway, to cheer myself up after that job I thought I'd start looking at a doll house for my Blythes. Wow, are those things expensive. I've looked at the Barbie and Sindy houses, but I want something a bit more customisable (is that a word?), which I can take good photos of. Anyway, I think the answer is to make one, which is going to take time and effort. I don't have either of those at the moment, so I guess it's going to have to wait for now.

I did however purchase a mini Lalaloopsy. I'm looking forward to her arrival!

Until then I'm back to the crawly things in the shadows.

Oh Dear

Me: Harmony, what are you doing?
Harmony: I'm protesting.
Me: Against what?
Harmony: You doing housework and not spending time with me.
Me: Once the house is tidy, and ironing done I can play with you.
Harmony: But you never get to the end of it.
Me: Ok, I see your point.

Looks like the kids will be going out in crumpled clothes tomorrow. heehee.

Dinah Meets a Pony

Last night, I decided to whip up a quick outfit for Dinah, my Blythe doll. The hat came out a little small, but considering I normally follow patterns I was quite pleased. So once finished, I nipped out to get a few shots. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but I still like the look of her with Baby Cotton Candy.
Pretty in Pink

I needed a little bit of escapism, because I am learning to drive at the moment and I'm dreadful. According to my instructor it's my confidence which is bad. I'm not really very sure what to do about that.

I hope you are all having a good week and stay safe on the roads.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you lovely Mummies out there. I've had a weird morning because my children stayed at their Nanna's house last night, so I am an abandoned Mummy! Going to pick them up soon though and then we are having lunch with my Father-in-law and dinner with my Mother-in-law. So, I guess diet will have to restart tomorrow!

Yesterday evening sans children, J and I decided to go for a walk. This is a massive thing because he hates "walking for no reason," but armed with his camera phone he was reasonably happy and I was over the moon snapping shots all over the place.
Beautiful derelict church
The light had faded when we found the windmill.
Spring has sprung!

I hope you all have a fantastic day. Never ever take your Mum for granted, I have too many people in my life who miss theirs dearly on this day as I'm sure they do everyday.

Spring has Sprung!

What a lovely day it is here on the Wirral!

The sun is shining and although when you step out the door there is still a chill in the air, just seeing the sun shine through the windows lifts my spirits amazingly. Sun really does have a magical power (although some may call is vitamin D) on my mood.

I shall write more today, but I wanted to impart my positive feelings as recently I have encountered far too much negativity. So here's to having a great day with more to come.

Chart Throb

Hello, how are you? I'm fine thank you.

It has now been a few days since my first post. In that time I have been doing research. In other words, reading other people's blogs. One thing I have noticed from this, is that a huge percentage start with an apology for not having written sooner. It would be easy for me to do this, however, if I start feeling guilty about not writing I will stop writing all together. So, to avoid that inevitable demise I am making you a promise. I will never even attempt to write to any sort of routine or frequency pattern. Sometimes it may be hours between posts, sometimes weeks. Otherwise, there is a slippery slop of uninteresting nothingness for the sake of writing something followed by an inevitable and most complete silence. OK, promise over.

I've been having a crafty day with my two little girls. We have made salt dough Christmas ornaments and orange shortbread. To be more precise it was satsuma shortbread because I didn't have any oranges, but it seems to have worked out quite tasty.

This evening has been a quiet sit on the sofa getting increasingly annoyed at the X Factor.  If you are an X Factor voter please read Chart Throb by Ben Elton and think again! They don't even appear to bother to hide the fact that it is rigged anymore. It's more "look at us fooling you into believing you actually have any influence over who the winner is" attitude What's more, there's nothing you can do about it other than turn off, which is what I now intend to do. I have nothing against the contestants, or anyone on the show personally, but when the audience are shouting one name every week and the other person stays in, something is going wrong! Ooh, quite the rant from the newbie blogger. Oh well, it's late and I'm tired. I shall use that as an excuse. Plus, I'm guessing no one will read this, so I shall be safe?

If anyone does read this and you've got this far, thank you. Until next time. Have a great week.
